Every year Coochiemudlo Island celebrates the landing of Lieutenant Matthew Flinders on the island on the 19th of July 1799. The event has become a wonderful tradition and has evolved to a day filled with reenactments, a parade, markets, food and wine stalls and events for adults and children alike.

Coochiemudlo Island is a small community located off Victoria Point in Brisbane's Morteon Bay. Coochie is rich in indigenous and European history, but Flinders Day celebrates the discovery of the island by English navigator Matthew Flinders.
